Full Job Description
Mortuary Assistant will liaise with Trust colleagues, HM Majesty's (HM) Coroner, Undertakers and other external agencies to provide a caring, compassionate mortuary service. Supporting the Mortuary Manager and their deputies with running the service with fellow APTs. The post holder will participate in the out of hours on call rota, once suitably trained and competency assessed., To contribute to the conveyance of a mortuary service ensuring exceptional standards are achieved and sustained at all times.
The post holder will be trained to use all equipment and perform all duties in accordance with standard operating procedures under strict supervision with regular competency assessments.
Ensure dignity and respect for the deceased is maintained at all times.
Contribute to the maintenance of quality management systems to maintain Human Tissue Authority (HTA) and United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).
To assist during normal working hours with the receipt and proper storage of deceased patients, checking the correct identification at every stage and release of deceased patients to the duly authorised persons ensuring that they meet quality standards of identification and documentation as defined in Standard Operating Procedures.
Daily preparing and measuring of deceased patients.
