Join the RAC as a Mobile Vehicle Technician in Our SMR Division! Welcome to a new era of mobile repair! At the RAC, we're not just about roadside rescue; we're pioneering a fresh approach in our Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division. Here, you'll deliver planned, structured repairs and servicing directly to our members, whether they're at home or at work.

Your Role in the SMR Division
In this exciting position, you'll be part of the Bristol cluster, covering areas like: Bristol (City Centre & Suburbs) Portishead Clevedon Filton Patchway Yate Keynsham
Forget emergency callouts and unpredictable shifts! You'll work through a scheduled list of jobs, equipped with the time, tools, and support to deliver quality work.
What to Expect
Your day begins with a clear digital schedule, where each job is pre-booked and waiting for you. You'll be responsible for:
- Routine servicing
- Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
- In-depth repairs typically done in a workshop
- Providing member advice and recommendations
- Conducting vehicle safety checks aligned with RAC standards
With SMR, you'll have the opportunity to focus on delivering planned work, ensuring you can prepare and execute each task effectively.
What You'll Need
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- A Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
- A minimum of 2 years' experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles
- A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
