Full Job Description
We are seeking a practical, customer-focused and highly organised Mobile Technician to support our customers across North England, Scotland and Wales. This field-based role involves travelling to customer locations to complete servicing, annual checks and warranty work on wheelchair accessible vehicles (WAVs), including ramps, wheelchair restraints, winches, electric reels and side steps. The role requires regular travel and staying away from home up to three nights per week., Attend planned WAVs inspections, service appointments and responsive call-outs across Great Britan, where required.
-Complete servicing, repairs, annual checks and warranty work efficiently, safely and to the highest standard in line with training, company procedures and supplier guidelines.
-Develop and maintain strong product knowledge across the vehicles, conversions and adaptations supplied by McElmeel Mobility Services.
-Work closely with service and aftersales administrators to ensure job records, reports and required documentation are completed accurately and on time.
-Deliver excellent customer service, clearly explaining work completed and responding professionally to customer queries about vehicle adaptations.
-Maintain an organised and well-stocked service vehicle to support first-time fixes wherever possible.
-Carry out other duties appropriate to the role and the needs of the organisation to support effective service delivery.
The successful candidate will be a confident, reliable and highly organised technician who takes pride in quality workmanship. You will be comfortable working independently in the field while also collaborating with internal teams to deliver a safe, efficient and professional service. Strong communication skills, sound judgement and a practical approach to problem solving are essential, along with a commitment to providing an excellent customer experience., Minimum of two years' experience as a mobile vehicle technician or in a similar hands-on technical or operational role.
-Full driving licence.
-Experience delivering excellent customer service in a field-based, technical or service environment.
-Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with customers, management, colleagues and external partners, and to explain technical information clearly.
-Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities and complete work accurately within a busy schedule.
-A positive, practical approach to problem solving, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Criteria:
-Previous experience working with wheelchair accessible vehicles (WAVs), vehicle adaptations, ramps, restraints, winches or similar specialist equipment.

Permanent, full-time field-based role, with travel across North England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland as required, including staying away from home up to three nights per week.
-48 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a flexible working pattern agreed in line with business needs.
