Full Job Description
The Mobile Supervisor is a dynamic and critical leadership role responsible for maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence, security, and safety across the airfield and/or terminal operations. This is a highly visible, mobile position that requires proactive engagement, rapid response to incidents, and effective management of multiple teams dispersed across various operational and security posts. The successful candidate will be a key point of contact for escalations, ensuring seamless operational delivery and exceptional communication with internal and external stakeholders., Operational Leadership & Team Management:
- Supervise, guide, and support multiple teams across a wide range of operational posts
- Conduct regular mobile patrols of the assigned area to monitor performance, compliance, safety, and security protocols.
- Allocate manpower and resources effectively to meet fluctuating operational demands and priorities.
- Conduct team briefings and ensure all personnel are informed of daily operational priorities, updates, and security alerts. Incident Response & Escalation Management:
- Act as the primary point of escalation for security breaches, safety incidents, and operational disruptions within the assigned zone.
- Respond promptly and decisively to all incidents, taking charge to co-ordinate an effective response and ensure a swift resolution.
- Conduct initial investigations, complete detailed and accurate incident reports, and liaise with relevant internal departments and external authorities (e.g., airport police, airfield fire service) as required. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key stakeholders, including airline operations, ground handling teams, and regulatory bodies.
- Utilise excellent verbal and written communication skills to provide clear, concise, and timely operational updates to the Duty Manager and other departments.
- Represent the company in a professional manner at all times during stakeholder interactions. Compliance, Safety & Security:
- Ensure all teams strictly adhere to company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and airport safety and security regulations.
- Hold a valid driving licence. An Airside Driving Permit (ADP) is required for this role (training provided if necessary).
- Promote and enforce a culture of safety, security, and vigilance among all staff. Conduct routine checks on security and equipment integrity. Performance & Reporting:
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for assigned teams and zones, focusing on security, safety, and operational efficiency.
- Provide constructive feedback and coaching to team members to drive continuous improvement.
- Complete accurate and detailed shift logs, incident reports, and equipment status documentation.
Proven experience in a supervisory or team leader role within an airport, aviation security, logistics, or a high-compliance operational environment. - Full, valid UK driving licence. Ability to obtain an Airside Driving Permit (ADP) is essential.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate confidently and effectively with people at all levels.
- Demonstrable experience in incident management and operational problem-solving.
- Strong stakeholder management and engagement skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and teams across a large physical area while maintaining composure under pressure.
- Flexibility to work a shift pattern, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and public holidays. Desirable:
- In-depth knowledge of UK airport operational procedures, particularly airside safety and security protocols.
- Able to operate in a control room environment liaising with stakeholders / emergency services. Escalate incidents appropriately, manage and deploy resources to deal.
- Formal training in incident command, health and safety.
- Formal qualification in Aviation/Airport Operations or Management., A proactive and solutions-oriented leader.
- Decisive and calm under pressure.
- Highly mobile and energetic.
- Exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills.
