Mobile Repair Technician

As a Mobile Repair Technician, you'll help support the London Fire Brigade by ensuring their fleet of over 460 vehicles and specialist equipment is always ready to respond. You'll play a key role in public safety across Greater London. Day-to-day you'll be:

• Diagnosing faults and testing vehicles using specialist equipment
• Maintaining your company vehicle for roadworthiness and servicing
• Accurately completing job documentation and parts requisitions
• Identifying and reporting recharge cost instances with evidence
• Working across operational and training sites, performing manual tasks such as lifting, bending, and tool use
This role involves manual work and requires passing a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination.


• Proven experience as a qualified motor vehicle technician
• Full UK driving licence (Category B essential; Category C desirable)
• Strong diagnostic skills and a methodical fault resolution
• High attention to quality and safety
• Understanding of workshop health and safety practices
Qualifications for the Mobile Repair Technician:
• City & Guilds Levels 1 and 2 in Motor Vehicle Studies, or
• NVQ Levels 2 and 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent)
Security Clearance The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.

The role is based onsite at Ruislip and offers a potential remuneration of up to £53,785.80, including a £41,350.50 base salary and allowances for shift work (£5,375.57), MRT allowance (£3,014.03) and on-call allowance (£4,045.70). The set working times are Monday to Friday, totalling 40 hours per week.
