Full Job Description

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification. This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service. This role is subject to holding a full UK Driving Licence

You will have good interpersonal skills, be confident working in a customer service role with the public and be able to undertake a diverse range of tasks. These will include issuing, returning and reserving books and other resources using our IT systems and working to a set timetable. Prior library experience isn't essential - it's much more important that you're friendly, outgoing and approachable. The successful applicants will need to hold a full driving licence that has a part C1 and a Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) would be desirable (training can be provided), as well as commercial experience driving a 7.5 tonne vehicle.
