Introduction
An exciting opportunity for a Mobile Heavy Goods Vehicle Apprentice to support our experienced Maintenance Technicians with servicing and defect repairs at various customer sites. The role provides hands-on training across a range of HGVs. Applicants must hold a driving licence (van will be supplied).
About the Employer
Fiveways is an established family run business specialising in the hire of and rental of commercial vehicles in the waste industry in London, Essex, Kent and across the UK. Our vehicle maintenance facility includes an MOT test lane for LGV vehicle and a separate MOT test lane for vehicles up to 7.5t. We have over 400 vehicles available on our fleet ranging from 32t waste collection vehicles, mechanical sweepers, 3.5t cage vehicles and other specialist vehicles.What You'll Do
The role provides hands-on training across a range of HGVs. Applicants must be able to start work at 5:00am each day from our Dartford location, hold a driving licence (van will be supplied).
Duties to include but not limited to;
- Assist experienced Mobile Engineers with vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs
- Support the diagnosis and rectification of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults
- Assist with vehicle inspections and defect repairs
- Learn to use diagnostic equipment and specialist workshop tools
- Complete job cards and maintenance records accurately
- Follow all company health and safety procedures and safe systems of work
- Maintain tools, equipment and mobile service vehicles to a high standard
- Develop the skills and knowledge required to become a fully qualified Mobile HGV Engineer
- Attend college/training as required and successfully complete all elements of the apprenticeship programme
