Mobile Facilities Support Assistant

You will support the delivery of essential services contributing directly to the high standards expected at the University of Oxford. You will carry out general building tasks, assist with minor repairs, undertake safety checks, and help prepare rooms for meetings and lectures. The role also includes supporting security operations, monitoring the presentation of facilities, and liaising with staff, students, and visitors to provide outstanding customer service. This is a varied and rewarding position for someone who enjoys practical work, problem-solving, and interacting with people. You will receive full training, including manual handling, first aid, and building system training, and will be provided with a uniform.

You'll bring a professional, approachable manner with strong front line customer service skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. You will also need basic IT proficiency with a willingness to learn new systems, a proactive and adaptable mindset with good practical maintenance and basic repair skills, plus excellent attention to detail, reliability, and discretion. Flexibility is an important part of this mobile role. You will work across a variety of University buildings and locations, providing cover where needed. This offers a great opportunity to build your knowledge and experience across different buildings, teams, and areas of the University. You will need to be flexible with your working pattern, including some weekend and unsociable hours, with normal shifts scheduled between 7am and 7pm.
