Full Job Description

The role

We are seeking a reliable, organised and proactive Minibus Driver & Transport Coordinator to oversee the smooth operation of the school's transport services while driving a scheduled morning minibus route.

This is a varied and rewarding role that combines hands-on driving responsibilities with the coordination of daily transport operations. You will be responsible for driving the school minibus on a scheduled morning route, ensuring pupils travel safely and arrive on time. Alongside this, you will coordinate transport services across the school, managing routes, schedules and day-to-day logistics to ensure services run efficiently and effectively.

The successful candidate will maintain accurate transport records, including journey check sheets, mileage logs and driver records, while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and school procedures. You will liaise with drivers, parents and external transport providers, as well as respond to unexpected transport issues calmly and efficiently. You will also be responsible for carrying out routine vehicle safety checks and ensuring that minibuses are clean, safe, fuelled and well maintained at all times.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organisational skills, a commitment to safety and the ability to manage day-to-day transport logistics in a busy school environment. You will be an effective communicator with a proactive approach to problem-solving and the confidence to deal with unexpected transport challenges as they arise. You will also hold a clean and valid D1 driving licence.
