Midwifery Ward Manager

The Maternity Ward Manager provides strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for the Labour, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) ward, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, woman- and family-centred care. The post holder is responsible for the effective management of the ward, leading multidisciplinary teams to achieve excellence in patient care, staff engagement, clinical governance, and service performance. Working collaboratively across the maternity service, the Ward Manager will promote evidence-based practice, continuous quality improvement, and a culture of safety, ensuring the ward consistently meets organisational objectives and regulatory standards while delivering seamless care throughout the maternity journey.,

• To provide midwifery leadership and act as a role model to others ,providing specialist expertise that is underpinned by theory and practical experience
• Provide 24 hour responsibility for the management of the midwifery teams , managing staff and liaising with others as necessary.
• Continuing responsibility for development of staff , equipment ,supplies and ward/department resources.
