Midwife Band 5 + 6

Successful candidates will be provided with support from our recruitment and retention team with orientation to all clinical areas with the option of core positions following completion of the preceptorship package. Band 5 newly qualified midwives will benefit from our extensive preceptorship programme, in line with the National Preceptorship Framework standards (2023) providing a firm foundation in starting your journey into midwifery. Preceptorship programmes can be personalised to suit individuals needs and wishes to incorporate rotations between the hospital and community. Full and part time hours are available and we actively promote flexible working hours to enable you to balance your work and home life. We would love for you to join our team where you will work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team in an environment that is supportive and empowering. You will be expected to fulfil the role of a midwife defined by the Nursing and Midwifery Council upholding high standards of quality evidence based care. You will work autonomously alongside the multi-disciplinary team to plan, implement and review ongoing holistic care to women in the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods. You will need skills of prioritisation, knowledge of local guidelines and policies to inform your practice, be flexible, adaptable and advocate for women, birthing people and families to ensure safe and effective care is provided. You will be facilitated to acquire additional competencies in preparation to become a band 6 midwife through the support of colleagues and your own initiative and proactivity.
