Full Job Description

  • Provide personalised, continuous midwifery care during the antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individually tailored care plans for women/birthing people and their families, ensuring their diverse needs are recognised and respected.
  • Practise autonomously as a midwife, delivering safe, evidence-based care in line with local and national guidelines.
  • Act as a positive clinical role model, demonstrating high standards of professional practice and behaviour at all times.
  • Uphold the principles and requirements of The Code: Professional standards of practice and behaviour for nurses, midwives and nursing associates (NMC, 2019).
  • Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to promote high-quality, holistic maternity care.

Our People Charter outlines the behaviours we can expect from one another and what you can expect from Bradford Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust:
  • We value people
  • We are one team
  • We care
  • We're keen to meet people who share these values and are passionate about delivering the highest quality of care to our patients.

We are seeking enthusiastic, compassionate, and highly motivated individuals to join our maternity services at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Our team is committed to delivering the highest standards of personalised, holistic care in close collaboration with our multidisciplinary colleagues. We are excited to offer opportunities for newly qualified Band 5 midwives who are due to qualify in 2026, as well as those who have qualified within the last 12 months. Whether you are beginning your midwifery journey or looking to continue your development, we would be delighted to welcome you into our supportive and dynamic service. We offer a range of full-time, part-time, and flexible working options, and we encourage you to get in touch to discuss how we can support your career and work-life balance. If you're passionate about providing exceptional maternity care and want to work in a forward-thinking organisation, we'd love to hear from you
