Full Job Description
The Governing Body of Greenhill Primary School seeks to appoint a Midday Supervisory Assistant to ensure the safety and wellbeing of pupils during lunchtime breaks, in accordance with the practices and procedures of the school. A reliable and professional person is required for this demanding but rewarding role within the school. The midday supervisors are very much a part of the team and central to the school. The successful candidate will have a calm and positive manner with children and will assist in promoting positive behaviour. The successful candidate will possess good communication skills and enjoy working with children. They will have a commitment to making lunchtimes a happy time and will be keen to engage pupils in play activities. Duties include:
- To supervise children during the lunch break
- To help children eating their school dinner or packed lunch
- To supervise children in the playground
- To supervise children in their classes during inclement weather
- To play games and undertake activities with the children
- To deal with minor accidents and injuries and administer some First Aid
- To manage children's behaviour positively
- To maintain confidentiality
An understanding of the role of a Midday Supervisor and the responsibilities associated with working with children. - The ability to communicate with children with care, empathy and understanding.
- The ability to work as part of a team.
