Full Job Description

The MICE and Entertainment Sales Manager is responsible for managing and converting incoming Group, Conference and Banqueting enquiries from MICE & Entertainment agencies and direct clients across the UK, Europe, North America and worldwide markets. The primary focus is responding to enquiries in a timely manner, identifying client requirements, and maximising conversion opportunities to achieve revenue targets.

Handle the full enquiry process from initial contact through to confirmation, providing tailored proposals and solutions to meet client needs. Coordinate and plan group and event requirements, ensuring all logistical details are communicated accurately and efficiently.

Act as the main point of contact for agency and direct accounts throughout the sales process, building strong client relationships and delivering a high level of customer service. Maintain accurate records within sales systems and work closely with internal departments to ensure seamless event delivery and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and respond to Group, Conference, Event and Entertainment enquiries received via telephone, email and third-party booking platforms, ensuring a professional and timely response.

Respond to all enquiries within established response time targets, providing accurate proposals and quotations tailored to client requirements.

Review availability, client history, market demand and pricing guidelines to ensure appropriate rates and packages are offered.

Contact prospective clients to discuss their requirements in detail, build rapport and identify opportunities to maximise revenue.

Ensure all enquiries, proposals and client interactions are accurately recorded within Opera and maintained in line with departmental procedures.

Proactively follow up on proposals, provisional bookings and tentative enquiries to maximise conversion and secure business.

Conduct site visits and show rounds for prospective clients, presenting the hotel's facilities and services effectively.

At times host familiarisation trips or assist at times determined by supervisor, these are sometimes outside of normal working hours

Prepare and issue contracts, terms and conditions and other documentation promptly following verbal confirmation of bookings.

Act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the sales process, providing exceptional customer service and maintaining strong relationships.

Coordinate and communicate all event and group booking details to relevant operational departments, ensuring information is accurate and updated promptly.

Maintain detailed records of client communications, booking activity and agreed actions within Opera.

If you're our ideal MICE and Entertainment Sales Manager you will have

Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant sales software, including Opera/Opera Cloud.

Excellent negotiation, communication, and customer service skills.

Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

Proven experience in MICE, events sales, or hotel sales management.

Commercially aware with strong business acumen.

Able to multitask, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.

Hospitality industry experience preferred, with at least 3 years in a similar role.
