MHST practitioner

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) in Lincoln, Louth, and Gainsborough as a qualified EMHP/CWP at Band 5 (Agenda for Change).
This role is diverse and offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of children, young people, and families by providing early support and intervention.
The MHSTs support children and young people aged 5-18 within school and college settings who are experiencing mental health or emotional wellbeing issues that are of low to moderate complexity and/or intensity.
The post holder will support several allocated educational settings, assisting children and young people and their families.
A key aspect of this role involves implementing Public Health England's Whole School Approach. This includes delivering training, workshops, and assemblies to the wider educational community and promoting mental health awareness within educational settings.

If you do not hold an accredited practice as an Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) or Children's Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP), please do not apply. This is not a trainee position., As an MHST practitioner you will manage a caseload of young people, providing interventions for mild-moderate mental health needs using Low-Intensity CBT and other evidence based interventions. You will also lead in implementing the Whole School Approach within your allocated settings by providing regular consultation, advice and training to professionals.
You will receive regular managerial and clinical supervision and clinical skills to support you throughout this role. There will be opportunity to access internal training as well as identification of other development needs via your appraisal.
This is advertised as full-time post operating Monday to Friday 9am-5pm, however other working patterns can be considered and base can be negotiated as long as service need is supported., Assess and deliver outcome focused, evidence-based interventions in educational settings for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties, working at all times in collaboration with and giving respect to the education function of the setting in which the post-holder is deployed.
Work in partnership to support children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties and their parents/carers, families and educators in the self-management of presenting difficulties.
Work in effective, evidence-based partnership with children, young people, their families and their educators in the development of plans for the intervention and agreed outcomes.
Support and empower children, young people, their parents/carers and families and their educators to make informed choices about the interventions being offered.
Operate at all times from an inclusive values base, which recognises and respects diversity.
Accept referrals within educational settings according to agreed local and national and local protocols.
Undertake and record accurate assessments of risk and operate clear risk management processes in line with locally agreed procedures including the safeguarding protocols of the educational setting and Local Safeguarding Board guidance.
Adhere to all regulations, processes and procedures within the educational service to which the postholder is attached within the educational setting where the post-holder working including (but not limited to) HR policies, training requirements, referral protocols, and emergency procedures. Signpost referrals of children with more complex needs to a locally identified appropriate relevant service.
