Role Overview

The Siemens Healthineers MES Engineer is responsible for providing a range of engineering support functions to facilitate Managed Equipment Service operations, ensuring Siemens Healthcare discharges its contractual obligations in line with the Company's Values.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

• Investigate and diagnose faults on a wide range of medical equipment, ensuring appropriate remedial actions while considering patient safety, efficiency, cost, performance, and response/fix times.


• Carry out repairs according to manufacturer specifications and within the agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).


• Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPMs) as per the schedule.


• Conduct acceptance testing and commissioning of new, loan, and trial equipment following MHRA guidelines.


• Achieve Customer Satisfaction targets.


• Maintain the Company's standards of Compliance, Quality, and Health & Safety related to MES operations.


• Proactively seek and initiate process improvements for efficiency and cost savings.


• Maintain data entry and records in the Siemens asset database (EAM).


• Attend relevant training courses, meetings, and conferences to support role development and contract activities.


• Assist with full annual equipment inventory and audits, including internal and external audits.


• Perform other duties as required to meet operational needs.

Qualifications and Experience

• Electronics, Medical, or Engineering Degree or HNC (or equivalent qualification/experience).


• Proven experience within a Managed Equipment Services (MES) / EBME workshop in a hospital environment.


• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.


• Solid knowledge of engineering principles and their practical application.


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and service management software.


• Understanding of working to service level agreements and achieving customer satisfaction.
