MEP Quality Manager | Newport, South Wales | Long-Term Freelance | Outside IR35 | Accommodation & Travel Provided, Our client is a leading international main contractor delivering one of the UK's flagship hyperscale data centre developments. Due to continued project growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced MEP Quality Manager to join the team on a long-term freelance basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile mission-critical project with a market-leading contractor, offering a fantastic day rat, Outside IR35 status, and accommodation and travel for candidates who are not based locally. The Role Working as part of the project leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality are maintained across all Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) installations throughout the construction lifecycle. You'll work closely with the client, project management team, subcontractors and commissioning teams to ensure all installations are delivered in accordance with project specifications, industry standards and client expectations.,
- Manage all quality assurance and quality control activities relating to MEP installations.
- Develop, implement and maintain project quality plans and inspection procedures.
- Review Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), quality documentation and handover records.
- Carry out site inspections, audits and quality reviews.
- Identify non-conformances and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Work closely with subcontractors to ensure compliance with project quality standards.
- Support commissioning and project handover activities.
- Produce regular quality reports and maintain accurate project records.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence across the project.
We're looking for an experienced Quality Manager with a strong background in MEP construction. You will have: - Significant experience managing quality on major construction projects.
- A strong understanding of Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) installations.
- Previous experience working for a main contractor or specialist MEP contractor.
- Excellent knowledge of QA/QC processes and quality management systems.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive, collaborative approach with excellent attention to detail. Desirable Experience Previous data centre or mission-critical project experience would be highly advantageous.
