Full Job Description
Mental Health Hospital Social Work offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference during some of the most significant and challenging periods in a person's life. Through relationship-based and strengths-focused practice, you will work alongside individuals, families and carers to support recovery, promote independence and facilitate safe, timely discharge from hospital.
We are committed to person-centred, trauma-informed practice and recognise the importance of understanding each person's experiences, strengths and aspirations. The role involves working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary inpatient setting, providing a strong social care perspective to assessment, care planning and discharge planning.
We are a supportive and experienced team, offering regular supervision, peer reflection, professional development opportunities and close partnership working with health colleagues. You will have access to both office-based and flexible working arrangements, helping to promote a healthy work-life balance.
Shropshire Council is committed to investing in its workforce and provides excellent opportunities for training, learning and career progression, enabling social workers to develop their skills, knowledge and professional practice within mental health services.
