Full Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Thameside, a category B Prison located in South East Call out some unique selling points about the site. Example: the team, the flexibility, the development pathways, apprenticeship, etc. Hours 37.5 between the hours 8am - 6pm 2 weekends a month required, As a Mental Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will
- Work within a multi-disciplinary team carrying out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options
- Undertake medication rounds, and assess and treat patients who may have undergone traumatic experiences and may be distressed
- Assess patients health needs using an evidence based framework and be able to risk assess use sound clinical knowledge
- You will work with individuals providing advice, support and information and manage a case load of patients.
- Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference
- You will monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects liaising with prescribers as required.
- Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders
- Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence based care
- Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care, building strong multi-disciplinary teams and supporting each other to do a great job. Qualified Mental Health Nurse - NMC registration - Evidence of Continued Professional Development
- Experience of working with patients, face to face, who have complex mental health conditions
- Experience of psychosocial interventions and group work Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
