Mental Health Adviser

We are looking to appoint two Mental Health Advisers to join our expanding Mental Health Advisory Team. The Mental Health Advisory Service (MHAS) is a team of Senior Mental Health Advisers & Mental Health Advisers, within the Student Counselling Service (SCS). The Mental Health Advisers work 1-1 and in groups with students and key functions of the role include triage and assessment, formulations, care planning, liaison, risk management and risk reduction work with students.

We want everyone that joins to be a part of this and to contribute to the friendly and fun community we are creating., The Mental Health Advisory Team supports students with severe and enduring, complex mental health difficulties. As a Mental Health adviser, you would complete triage, assessments and risk formulations, and create care-plans as part of the wider student support offer. Mental Health advisers deliver 1-1 and group sessions with students and may create group session material. A Mental Health Adviser may also liaise with internal and external partners.

You will work alongside the Senior Mental Health advisers, wider university support and external Mental Health Pathways to provide the most appropriate package of support to the students accessing our service.

The Mental Health Advisory Team meet regularly to coordinate complex case work, for team meetings and development and supervision.
