- To provide an efficient, effective and complete Mental Health Act administration service for patients who are formally detained; ensuring that the requirements of the law are met and that the rights of patients subject to the Act are safeguarded., The MHA offices provide statutory Mental Health Law compliance on behalf of the Trust under the Mental Health Act. The role is a specialised administration role around Mental Health Law., Please see the JD & PS for full overview of main responsibilities. - High standard of general education: GCSE or "O" level equivalent Desirable
- Holds a certificate in MHA Law (University of Northumbria/IMHAP) Experience Essential
- Evidence of practical experience of administering the Mental Health Act Proven ability to work to deadlines, prioritise, manage a busy workload Experience of working in a busy office environment Evidence of ability to work to deadlines and achieve the desired results Skills & Knowledge Essential
- Working knowledge of the essential principles and components of the Mental Health Act 1983 and related procedures. Proficient in Microsoft Applications / Good keyboard skills Other Essential
- Ability to learn complex procedures quickly and thoroughly Sensitive approach to patient group/relatives Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team setting Person Specification Qualifications Essential
