Full Job Description

The Member Learning and Engagement team provides support to Members of the Senedd (Members) and their support staff across Wales by delivering a varied programme of training and development activities. The team is also responsible for engagement with Members and their support staff on services and initiatives in place to support them in fulfilling their roles.
You will work closely with the Member Learning and Engagement Manager and the Senior Member Learning and Engagement Manager. You will be responsible for managing the administration and day to day delivery of the service. You will be required to work closely with a variety of stakeholders across the Senedd as well as external training providers to ensure that the best possible service is received by Members and their staff. You will develop innovative training solutions, drawing on internal and external expertise. You will be driven and motivated to deliver an excellent service and world class training programme.
The language skills for this post have been assessed as follows:
+ Listening: Understand discussions and instructions even on unfamiliar topics. (Level 4)
+ Speaking: Able to speak and engage in discussion at length, confidently and without prompting. (Level 4)
+ Reading: Understand correspondence, newspaper articles and reports aimed at fluent Welsh speakers. (Level 4)
+ Writing: Able to write different types of texts in styles that are appropriate to the reader in mind. (Level 4)

+ Oversee the day-to-day management of training requests and supporting administrative processes, including the Learning Management System.
+ Develop training programmes that are relevant and add value.
+ Liaise with key stakeholders to identify training needs and to contribute to the development of the service.
+ Manage the Members' training budget ensuring timely payment of invoices.
+ Manage service publicity, intranet presence and develop innovative ways to engage, using new applications / technology.
+ Draft advertisements and internal communications messages.
+ Support procurement exercises to establish training contracts and manage various contracts, ensuring they are fit for purpose.

1. Customer service: strong interpersonal skills with an ability to effectively communicate complex information to customers; building links with internal and external stakeholders.
2. Judgement: Awareness of political priorities and sensitivities, with an ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
3. Time management: Strong prioritisation and organisational skills; utilising supporting ICT tools such as Office 365 apps (Planner, Excel, OneNote, Teams).
4. Accuracy: Strong attention to detail, good literacy and numeracy skills, and the ability to work accurately under pressure.
