Full Job Description

We are looking to recruit an outstanding Pharmacy Technician with a keen interest in mental health. You will be required to dispense medications for our service users in hospital and community, train to become part of our phlebotomy team, support our Clozapine clinic by running the POCHI machine to test patients' blood cell levels, counsel service users on their medication, and visit wards to replenish medicines., Provide high-quality technical support necessary for the dispensing of prescriptions including inpatient, outpatient and discharge medications and the distribution of medicines to the designated units of SHSC under the supervision of a senior technician and pharmacist.

  • Medicines Reconciliation
  • Medication counselling
  • Supply medicines to units within SHPU and other designed units outside of the trust.
  • To undertake accuracy checking of prescriptions.
  • Participate in the provision of phlebotomy services, including training in operating the POCHI machine.
  • Participate in supervision and peer review.
  • Delivering training trust wide
  • Contribute to the out of hours rota including early morning (start at 8am), late night (finish at 6pm), weekends and bank holidays.
  • To support and cover for other staff members in other areas within the department.
  • To complete all mandatory training as indicated by SHPU
