Medical Secretary - Gastroenterology and Hepatology

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Secretary to join the Gastroenterology/Hepatology Administration Team within the Gastroenterology Department on a 10-month fixed term contract or secondment with a possibility of extension.

This is a varied and rewarding role that provides administrative support across the Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Care Group, and Endoscopy Services. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a range of clinical and managerial teams, gaining exposure to different aspects of service delivery within a busy and dynamic department., To provide a comprehensive service to the care group, endoscopy, consultants and speciality teams, with the minimum of supervision. Organise your own workload and co-ordinate activities with other medical secretaries to ensure that an efficient service is provided. It is essential that you show initiative commensurate with the role and it is vital that confidentiality should be maintained at all times. Ensure cross cover working where possible.

The successful candidate should possess fast and accurate keyboard skills. Knowledge of medical terminology would be advantageous, as would previous, experience of working within an NHS environment.
