Full Job Description
Due to the continued growth of the department, we are seeking applications for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and experienced Medical Secretary to join the Gastroenterology Department.
You will be well organised, with a meticulous attention to detail, and have excellent communication skills. As the department is extremely busy, the ability to work effectively under pressure is essential.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, able to manage their own workload and time efficiently, and be competent in the use of IT systems. You will work well as part of a team, offering support to colleagues when required.
Applicants should be educated to at least GCSE level and ideally hold an administration and/or equivalent secretarial qualification. Previous NHS medical secretarial experience is desirable but not essential.
Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust provides a range of emergency and non-emergency services to residents across East Surrey, North-East West Sussex, and South Croydon, serving a population of over 535,000 people. Our catchment area includes the major towns of Crawley, Horsham, Reigate, and Redhill.
At East Surrey Hospital, Redhill, we deliver a wide range of acute and complex services. In addition, we provide outpatient, diagnostic, and less complex planned services at The Earlswood Centre, Caterham Dene Hospital and Oxted Health Centre in Surrey, and at Crawley and Horsham Hospitals in West Sussex.
We deliver services across the Surrey and West Sussex County Council areas and work closely with the district, borough and town councils of Reigate and Banstead, Mole Valley, Tandridge, Crawley, Horsham, and East Grinstead. The Trust is part of the Surrey Heartlands and Sussex Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), which bring together health and care organisations to work in partnership with staff, patients, carers, families and local communities to improve services and support people to live healthier lives.
