Full Job Description
To be responsible for the provision of a full medical secretarial and administrative support service to the Clinicians within the Dermatology Department.

- Liaise with consultants in your area of responsibility to provide a full medical secretarial service.
- Liaise with staff at all levels both internally and externally answering written and verbal enquiries when necessary, taking action on all matters that can be dealt with without further reference.
- Exchange verbal and written information with patients/relatives/staff.
- Ensure accurate input of patient details when entering data onto information databases, including routine tracking of patient case notes.
- Responsible for taking and transcribing of minutes of meetings.
- Appropriately disseminate a variety of correspondence / documentation some of which is highly confidential.
- To exercise initiative in ensuring urgent tests are booked and on receipt of results, taking action where appropriate, being aware of the implications of own actions.
- Action RTT (18 week) pathways as appropriate.
- Ensure that all clinical correspondence is transcribed within the required timescales alerting direct line manager if there any foreseeable delays.
