Medical Records Co-ordinator Advert Mendip Vale Medical Group Salary: £12.90 per hour Hours: 20 hours per week, worked over Thursday and Friday About the role We're looking for a methodical, detail-focused Medical Records Co-ordinator to join our records team. This is a largely administrative role, with the great majority of your time spent on accurate, independent processing work rather than direct patient contact, so it suits someone who's happy getting their head down and working through detailed tasks without needing a highly social or fast-changing environment. You'll be joining a close, established team of 11, with a good mix of experience levels, including colleagues who've been with us a long time alongside others who value the flexible part-time hours. What you'll be doing Updating and maintaining patient medical records, from registering new patients through to deactivating records when they leave Handling patient requests to access their own medical records Supporting

authorised access requests from insurance companies Reading, coding and accurately logging correspondence, both paper and electronic Using anatomical and physiological knowledge to apply the correct codes and link related information on a patient's record Keeping all patient files and related admin to the required quality standards, in line with information governance, GDPR and DPA regulations What we're looking for Essential: GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above (or equivalent experience), plus evidence of ongoing personal development Medical terminology and coding experience Experience working within an NHS environment relevant to accurate data recording Good general IT skills, including Word, Excel, email and databases Able to prioritise and manage competing demands while hitting deadlines Tact and sensitivity, with the ability to build trust and confidence Strong, adaptable communication across different audiences Patient-focused, compassionate, resilient and flexible Desirable:
