Medical Receptionist

Exmoor Surgery is looking for a Medical Receptionist to undertake a wide range of administrative duties while providing effective support to the multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, scanning and processing documentation, managing and filtering medical reports and correspondence via DOCMAN, and supporting reception tasks such as welcoming and directing patients, efficiently using the appointment system, booking appointments, handling patient information, and assisting patients as required.

You will act as the central point of contact for all patient-related correspondence, including letters, reports, and clinical documentation, ensuring accurate and timely distribution of information, messages, and queries to the appropriate members of the clinical team. The role also involves liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external organisations, including secondary care and community service providers., As a Medical Receptionist, you will greet patients, manage appointments, handle calls and enquiries, and support the smooth running of the reception area. You will assist with patient registrations, prescription requests, and general administrative tasks while maintaining confidentiality and providing a professional, welcoming service at all times. Additional duties may be required depending on workload and staffing levels.

Please note: Applicants must be UK citizens with a minimum of 5 years working experience in the UK. Experience using EMIS is essential.
