Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Location: UK (South East region) Job Scope The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design, development, testing, and ongoing support of mechanical assemblies and structures used within specialist engineering products and systems. Key Responsibilities
- Support mechanical engineering development activities in line with internal quality systems and engineering procedures Contribute to the improvement and enhancement of existing mechanical designs in line with product and business requirements Produce technical drawings, CAD models, and supporting engineering documentation for project delivery Assist in estimating effort, cost, and timescales for mechanical design and development activities Support the build, assembly, and testing of prototypes and pre-production equipment Implement design modifications and engineering changes as required by project needs Provide support to wider engineering and production activities as required by
senior management Occasional UK travel may be required at short notice to support project or testing activities Requirements Ability to interpret and work from technical drawings and engineering documentation Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and database systems Ability to produce clear and accurate technical documentation Analytical approach to problem solving with good numerical and written communication skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage across teams and disciplines Self-motivated, calm under pressure, and able to think creatively and practically Ability to plan and prioritise own workload and make decisions independently when required Flexible approach to changing priorities and tight deadlines Qualifications Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline
