The Construction Consultancy Services (CCS) team provide client-side construction consultancy services across a range of professional disciplines to deliver capital build projects and programmes of all sizes, value and complexity on behalf of Durham County Council. The team has an expanding mechanical and electrical design requirement. As such we are seeking applications from candidates the role of Mechanical Design Engineer. WHAT IS INVOLVED? In this role you will provide high-quality mechanical design, advice and technical solutions for construction projects. You will be a member of a team of professionals. Our staff are experienced in construction design and management and hold a diverse range of professional accreditation and chartership including MCIBSE, IHE, CIOB, RICS, CIAT and RIBA. The range of professional disciplines and services provided by the team cover:
- Construction Project Management
- Quantity Surveying and Accounts
- Contract Administration
- Construction, Design and Management
- Programme and Project Support
- Architectural Building Design
- Mechanical and Electrical Design
- Building Surveying
- Clerk of Works
- Building Condition Surveys In the role of Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for conducting the mechanical design for a wide range of building projects. In some cases, acting as the project lead fulfilling project management, contract administration and principal designer duties. In other cases, fulfilling lead designer or sub-consultant designer duties as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
This is a career band role and as such we are interested in applications from people with a differing range of knowledge and experience in line with the criteria for each of the grades on offer. Appointment will be made at the grade level depending on relevant experience.
