Full Job Description
In this role, no two days are the same. You'll work across laboratories, public roads and international proving grounds, capturing high-fidelity data that feeds JLR's proprietary simulation models and development programmes. It's hands-on, varied and full of opportunities to grow within a team where individuality is celebrated. Here's what to expect:
- Lead end-to-end measurement activities across UK and international test locations, ensuring high-quality, uncorrupted real-time data for validation and sign-off
- Prepare vehicles with advanced instrumentation and sensors, selecting the right transducers for each test objective
- Execute vehicle-based testing for tyre characterisation, durability, driveline demand and broader behaviour studies
- Verify, analyse and report on measured data to support engineering chapters across JLR
- Contribute to the development of future measurement capabilities, including enhancements to bespoke platforms such as VBOTT
Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills that will help you succeed here, including: - Strong experience and understanding of electrical, mechanical or power and control systems
- Experience in hands-on vehicle testing, instrumentation and data acquisition
- Strong data analysis skills with an appreciation of measurement processes, tools and techniques
- Ability to lead measurement activity, including fitter-tester and subcontracted support
- Knowledge of sensors, data logging systems and prototype vehicle environments (e.g., accelerometers, strain gauges, inertial GPS)
