Full Job Description

We're looking for a Maxillofacial Prosthetist / Reconstructive Scientist to join our specialistteam at St George's Hospital.This is a role where your work has real, visible impact. You'll support patients throughcomplex, often life-changing treatment - restoring function, appearance and confidencefollowing trauma, cancer, congenital conditions and major surgery.You'll be part of a highly skilled, collaborative service, working closely with teams across:? Maxillofacial and Restorative Dentistry ? Plastic Surgery ? Head & Neck Oncology ? Neurosurgery ? Ophthalmology This isn't a lab-only role. You'll be embedded within the clinical pathway, contributing yourexpertise at every stage - from planning through to rehabilitation, as part of amultidisciplinary approach., You'll be involved in a broad and varied caseload across maxillofacial prosthetics andreconstructive science. While experience in the specialty is helpful, we'll support yourdevelopment with full local training.Your work will include:? Designing and fabricating extra-oral prostheses (orbital, nasal, auricular andcraniofacial) ? Supporting intra-oral prosthetic rehabilitation ? Using both traditional techniques and digital workflows, including CAD and 3Dprinting ? Contributing to pre- and post-operative care and treatment planning Depending on your experience, you may also be involved in areas such as orthognathicplanning, trauma splints, implant-retained prostheses, obturation techniques and customsilicone or titanium implants.As a Reconstructive Science STP host unit, we're also keen to hear from candidates with aninterest in teaching or supporting trainees.
