An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dedicated and dynamic maternity team as a Low Risk and Community Matron at Newham University Hospital. This key leadership role will provide operational and professional oversight for our community midwifery services, low-risk care pathways, and maternity teams, supporting the continued development and transformation of our services.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative, and passionate midwife who is committed to making a difference for women, birthing people, and their families. You will play a pivotal role in leading quality improvement initiatives, strengthening community and low-risk maternity services, and ensuring the delivery of safe, personalised, and equitable care.

Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues, including obstetric, neonatal, public health, and community teams, you will support the implementation of national maternity strategies and local priorities. You will champion excellence in clinical care, staff development, and service improvement, helping to deliver our vision for maternity transformation and outstanding experiences for the diverse communities we serve at Newham University Hospital.

If you are an experienced midwifery leader with a passion for quality, safety, and innovation, we would love to hear from you., The post holder will be accountable for delivering high-quality, evidence-based care across Newham University Hospital's low-risk maternity services. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, partner agencies, and service users, they will lead the continuous development and improvement of services, ensuring safe, personalised, and equitable care for women, birthing people, and their families.

As the Low Risk Matron, you will provide visible leadership for community maternity services and low-risk care pathways, ensuring services meet the needs of Newham's diverse population. You will support the delivery of national maternity priorities, local transformation programmes, and quality improvement initiatives, promoting innovation, safety, and excellence in practice.

The role has a key responsibility for fostering a culture of learning and patient safety, ensuring lessons from incidents, audits, complaints, and feedback translate into meaningful service improvements. You will work closely with maternity and corporate teams to maintain high standards of governance, quality, and patient experience.

You will also provide clinical leadership when required, acting as an expert practitioner, role model, and advocate for staff development, wellbeing, and workforce sustainability.
