Full Job Description

  • Provides expert, autonomous clinical leadership for preoperative assessment and management of elective surgical patients, including high-risk and complex cases
  • Leads and deliversnurse-led pre-admission and preoperative assessment services across surgical specialties
  • Developsintegrated, patient-centred preoperative pathways to improve quality, safety, and timeliness of care
  • Offersprofessional leadership and specialist consultancy to multidisciplinary teams across the Trust
  • Drivesservice development, innovation, and quality improvement, addressing health inequalities and complex patient needs
  • Leadseducation, training, and competency development for preoperative assessment staff
  • Promotes and contributes toevidence-based practice, audit, and research

    We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and flexible experienced nurse who embodies the Trust's values and is committed to achieving the best outcomes and experiences for patients. The successful candidate will lead clinics and manage a daily caseload, demonstrating a flexible approach to work, strong communication skills, and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development within a specialist area, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.
  • This is a nurse-led service with anaesthetic support throughout the week. The post holder will require excellent communication and leadership skills, the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team, and the capacity to perform effectively under pressure. A strong clinical knowledge base and high level of motivation are essential.
