Are you a highly skilled, visible and committed Children's Community Nurse? We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference to the health and well-being of children and young people in our community, whilst supporting and inspiring the teams to provide high quality care. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a cluster of innovative and dynamic Community Children's Nursing services (Children's Continuing Care, CYP Specialist Inclusion School Nursing and Paediatric Continence Service) which are part of an integrated network of services for children in Bexley & Greenwich. Alongside the current Matron you will be leading teams that provide high quality specialist child-centred nursing care, in community settings, schools and the child's own home. Main duties of the job In this role you will lead on Continuing Care Assessments, Caseload Management and working in collaboration with relevant stakeholders. The post holder will provide visible clinical leadership to ensure that Children and Young people and their families/carers receive high quality, evidence-based care. They will be accountable for upholding standards and quality, ensuring a positive patient experience, maintaining patient safety, and promoting clinical effectiveness within the service., The Matron will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the Children's Continuing Care Service (including assessments, setting up care packages and caseload management), CYP Specialist Inclusion School Nursing and Paediatric Continence Service. Education /Qualifications Essential
- RSCN or RN (child) Degree level
- NMC Registration
- Evidence of professional development Desirable
- Masters level qualification in a related subject (or equivalent experience) Skills/Abilities/Knowledge Essential
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to motivate others and manage change
- Ability to work in a community setting with vulnerable families with language and cultural barriers Desirable
- Service development experience Experience Essential
- 5 years experience children's nurse, 2 years senior nurse role
- Experience of management of teams in the community setting
- Extensive experience in assessing care needs, planning implementation and evaluation of care plans.
- Extensive experience in teaching and assessing the competencies of other staff and carers.
- Experience of completing Continuing Care Assessments and setting up care packages for CYP with complex health needs Desirable
- Previous experience of research and audit
