Full Job Description
Are you a Life Changer? Do you want to lean in and transform the life of a child?, We are all teachers of children before teachers of subjects. Central to this role is building positive relationships, understanding each child and motivating them to succeed.
We are seeking a Mathematics specialist. Our curriculum includes Entry Level, Functional Skills, Key Stage 3 and GCSE. You will be supported by national subject champions who help ensure high-quality teaching and learning across all pathways.
Compass Community School teachers inspire curiosity, create engaging learning experiences and make learning meaningful and relevant. They adapt lessons to meet individual needs while maintaining high expectations for every student.
Our children require exceptional teachers who can manage complex and challenging behaviours with patience, consistency, flexibility and a non-judgemental approach.
We want our teachers to contribute to the decision making that shapes the school, improves outcomes and advocates for every child. We welcome ideas, interests and passions that enrich both the curriculum and extracurricular opportunities.
Compass Community puts children first through our therapeutic, innovative approach. Integrity, Courage and Care shape how we work. We listen deeply, challenge each other and fix what needs fixing, together.
This is the work. And we'd like you to be part of it.
Who We Are
Our children come from a wide range of backgrounds, but all have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH). Many also have additional Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism, ADHD and communication difficulties.
The work we do is varied and challenging and, as a trauma and attachment informed organisation, all staff receive extensive therapeutic training and support.
Our child-centred approach brings together education and therapy professionals, parents and carers, local authority teams and students to achieve outstanding outcomes for every child., At Compass, Integrity, Care and Courage are more than words. They are demonstrated every day through the actions staff take to support children, families and colleagues.
The Compass Values Awards celebrate individuals and teams who embody these values and make a meaningful difference across our organisation.
Safeguarding
Compass Community Schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff and volunteers are expected to share this commitment.
Successful applicants will be required to obtain an Enhanced DBS check, or Enhanced DBS with Barred List check where appropriate, and complete all relevant safer recruitment and due diligence procedures, including social media screening.
All school-based staff are responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and must work in accordance with the school's Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy at all times.
Compass is an equal opportunities employer committed to diversity and inclusion. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, cultures and experiences and recognise that diversity strengthens our ability to support children and young people.
