What You'll Be Doing
- Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
- Inspire pupils to develop curiosity, resilience and a positive attitude towards Maths.
- Adapt teaching strategies and resources to support pupils with autism and additional learning needs.
- Monitor progress and celebrate achievements, helping pupils recognise their own success.
- Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where pupils feel valued and supported.
- Work closely with families, therapists and wider school staff to provide a joined-up approach to learning.
- Contribute to curriculum development and the continued growth of our school community.
- Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development, preparing them for adulthood and future opportunities.
We're looking for someone who combines strong teaching skills with a genuine passion for making a difference. - Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a relevant Mathematics degree.
- A passion for helping young people achieve their full potential.
- Excellent classroom practice and subject knowledge.
- The creativity and flexibility to adapt learning for individual pupils.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- A patient, resilient and proactive approach.
- Experience working with pupils with additional needs or a desire to develop SEND expertise.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Welcome to Parkside House School, an SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Independent Special School with sites in Backworth and Ashington.
