Maternity Ward Clerk

24/7 service with shift patterns based on a mixture of Days (11.5 hours) nights (11.5 Hours) and Weekends and Bank Holidays. To ensure the smooth application and control of all administration, clerical and computer processes associated with the work area. Ensure the provision of effective communication to both patients and staff to enhance patient care.

• To welcome patients, relatives and carers on arrival to the ward.
• Ensure patient details are correct on our IT systems and complete admission details on arrival
• To deal with enquiries and to pass information to the appropriate staff.
• To provide a courteous, responsive and effective point of contact (in person and by telephone) for patients, carers and healthcare professionals, both internal and external to the Trust.
• To keep ward diary and excel spreadsheets up to date.
• Promote a customer focused approach to receive patients and visitors to the ward.
