Are you an enthusiastic midwife who enjoys offering a high standard antenatal care to women/pregnant people? You will have the opportunity to work in partnership with the obstetrician, the pregnant person and other multi-displinary teams. The role is core within the services of the outpatient department, which will include working within the Antenatal Clinic, Maternity Day Assessment Unit and Maternity Helpline. • The midwife is responsible and accountable for his/her own midwifery practice.
• To work in partnership with women and their families, GP, obstetrician and other agencies to ensure optimum care.
• To act as an advocate and support for parents.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care of mothers and babies in accordance with theTrust's policies and guidelines.
• Strive for continuity of care and informed client choice within the limitations of the service.
• Facilitate the learning of midwifery skills through supervision, teaching and support.
• Actively promote and encourage a healthy lifestyle, advising and arranging support for women as required.
• Liaise with multidisciplinary teams with regard to arranging appointments management of pregnancy and postnatal care of mother and baby.

  Registered Midwife
• BSc in Midwifery
• Assessor/mentorship course or full SSSA equivalent
• Champion for midwifery led care, Willing to work in all areas of maternity
• Excellent clinical decision making skills
• Knowledge of obstetric Emergency skills and drills and the ability to perform in an emergency situation
• IV drugs administration and cannulation, Ability to deal with difficult situations/people and reduce conflict
• Completed preceptorship course if applicable
• Awareness of professional responsibilities
• Able to demonstrate an understanding of clinical governance and risk assessment
