Full Job Description
- Take the lead in managing the day to day flow within maternity, ensuring smooth transition between areas for patients and their families.
- Carry and respond to maternity emergency bleep throughout each shift.
- Participate in clinical governance processes, incident reporting, audit and quality improvement activities.
- Communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team including other areas of the clinical service unit and the wider hospital.
- Support and Guide decision making of your colleagues to ensure safety across the unit. - Degree in Midwifery
- Robust Evidence of CPD since qualification
- Registered Midwife with current NMC registration, Substantial post registration maternity experience
- Experience of managing a team on a shift by shift basis
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Leadership Skills
- IT Skills / Computer Literate, Change Management Skills
- Experience of participating in clinical governance
- Understanding of clinical governance & health and safety issues
- Understanding of HR policies and procedures
