The Board of Westminster School is seeking to appoint the next Master of Westminster Under School from September 2027.

Located in the heart of London, Westminster Under School is one of the country's leading preparatory schools. Educating pupils aged 4 to 13 and closely connected to Westminster School, it combines intellectual rigour, exceptional pastoral care and a rich co-curricular programme, and forms an integral part of one of the UK's most distinguished educational foundations.

While benefiting from its close relationship with Westminster School, the Under School enjoys a distinctive identity of its own: ambitious, vibrant and deeply committed to the holistic development of every pupil. Academic excellence sits alongside outstanding opportunities in sport, music, drama, the arts, science and wider enrichment. This breadth was recognised in the School's most recent ISI inspection, which identified co-curricular provision as a significant strength. A culture of warmth and inclusion underpins all that it does, alongside a commitment to widening access and ensuring that talented pupils can benefit from a Westminster education irrespective of background or means.

This appointment comes at a particularly exciting moment in the School's history. Following the introduction of co-education, significant investment in the School's campus and facilities, and the expansion of its provision through a new pre-prep, Westminster Under School is entering an important new phase of development. The next Master will play a central role in embedding this ambitious programme of change, ensuring that growth is delivered thoughtfully and successfully, in keeping with the values and traditions that define Westminster.

The successful candidate will be an accomplished educational leader with strong academic credentials, a commitment to exceptional pastoral care and a genuine passion for educational breadth.
