Are you an undergraduate looking for a high-impact placement role in a healthcare organisation with a clear purpose to 'do now what patients need next'? If that's you, please read on, as we're looking for a passionate, driven Marketing Intern to join our team at Roche Diagnostics UK and Ireland for a sandwich year placement. In the Marketing department at Roche Diagnostics UK and Ireland, we are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of healthcare. We deeply understand our customers to drive the business strategy for our affiliate by providing insights-driven content, ensuring our messages are personal and impactful, and showing up as leaders to be the number one partner of choice. We're looking for a flexible and hardworking undergraduate who is passionate about marketing and would like to spend their placement year working in one of the world's most respected and established biotechnology companies. You will gain deep insight into the diagnostics industry and the healthcare sector through being part of a fast-paced, collaborative team. You will be involved in a variety of activities to support the department as well as having the opportunity to manage your own standalone projects. The Opportunity In this role, you'll support the day-to-day running of the Marketing team, working closely with members from across the department to execute our projects and activities. Specifically, you will:
- Manage the central marketing inbox, ensuring internal and external enquiries are actioned promptly
- Assist with event planning, campaign execution and on-the-day logistics
- Curate, design and distribute regular internal newsletters and company memos
- Develop, organise and maintain sales enablement collateral
- Raise purchase orders and assist with other financial budget administration
- Coordinate print production requests and the ordering of branded promotional materials
- Build and update internal intranet content
- Provide flexible, ad-hoc support for the marketing department. Who you are We're looking for someone with genuine enthusiasm, integrity, and plenty of initiative. You'll be highly organised, efficient and keen to get stuck into a wide variety of tasks. Thriving in a fast-paced environment, you must be comfortable balancing daily operational responsibilities with broader creative support. A natural multi-tasker, you possess a keen eye for detail and a tech-savvy mindset, enabling you to quickly master new systems and support cross-functional teams efficiently. If you have prior coursework, extracurricular experience, or internships in marketing or healthcare that would be great but it's definitely not required.
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree with an option for a 1-year industrial placement/sandwich year.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong digital fluency.
- Great time management and organisational skills.
- Curiosity, a proactive mindset, and a willingness to give new challenges a try. Get the support you need If you bring a growth mindset, integrity, and passion, we will support you to develop professionally and personally by equipping you with real-world skills and expertise. You'll receive ongoing mentoring and hands-on training from our experienced team. You'll also join our friendly and active Early in Careers network, where you can connect, collaborate, and share your placement year with interns and graduate trainees from across other departments and business functions. Please note: Unfortunately, visa sponsorship is not available for this role. Candidates must already hold a valid authorisation to work in the UK.
- Our focus is to understand why you have applied for this role and what you will bring to the role to ensure team and personal success.
