By connecting withcommunities, delivering impactful conservation projects, and driving change, we work tocreate a better future for nature and people.We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Marketing and Communications Manager tolead our efforts in growing our membership, engaging supporters, and increasing ourprofile across Sheffield and Rotherham.The Marketing and Communications Manager will lead the development andimplementation of the Trust's marketing and communications strategy. This includesdriving digital recruitment of members and supporters, increasing brand awareness, andsupporting colleagues to communicate the Trust's vital work effectively., Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and lead the delivery of a marketing and communications strategy to
  • support the Trust's goals, including membership growth, supporter engagement, volunteer recruitment and income generation.
  • Ensure that the strategy aligns with the Trust's mission and values, and evaluate its
  • impact through performance data and feedback.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends in digital marketing and advocacy to refine the
  • Trust's approach and ensure innovation in campaigns.
  • Manage the production of the Trust's membership magazine, Kingfisher.
  • Digital Recruitment
  • Work alongside the Membership and Fundraising Officer to design and implement
  • innovative digital campaigns to recruit new members and supporters.
  • Use data analytics and CRM tools to monitor engagement and optimise digital
  • marketing efforts. Brand Awareness, Partnerships, and Reputation Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with press contacts, local media outlets, and
  • partner organisations to raise the Trust's profile across the region.
  • Lead on reputation management, ensuring consistent messaging and handling of
  • sensitive issues.
  • Support teams across the Trust in producing high-quality press releases that
  • highlight the Trust's work, achievements, and impact.
  • Act as a key point of contact for press enquiries, providing timely and professional
  • responses in collaboration with relevant colleagues.
  • Monitor media coverage to identify opportunities for promotion and manage any
  • negative or inaccurate stories effectively.
  • Implement the Trust's brand protocol, liaising with the Wildlife Trusts nationally, and
  • ensure it is applied consistently across the Trust's marketing and communications materials.
  • Support advocacy work by assisting the Advocacy Team in developing campaigns
  • and communications that inspire people to take action for nature, including petitions, public campaigns, and calls to engage with local decision-makers. 5 Fundraising Support
  • Work closely with the fundraising team to promote appeals, donor communications,
  • and membership engagement campaigns.
  • Help communicate the importance of fundraising initiatives and their impact on the
  • Trust's work. Social Media and Website Management
  • Lead the Trust's social media strategy, ensuring platforms are used effectively to
  • grow and engage audiences and promote campaigns.
  • Maintain the Trust's website, keeping it up to date, user-friendly, accessible to all,
  • and aligned with the brand.
  • Oversee the management of the Trust's online shop, ensuring it supports income
  • generation and customer satisfaction. Team Management
  • Line-manage two other members of the Communications Team, providing guidance
  • and support to ensure high performance and professional development.
  • Work alongside the Head of Fundraising and Communications to oversee workloads,
  • set priorities, and coordinate team efforts to deliver against strategic objectives. Cross Team Collaboration
  • Work with colleagues across the Trust to provide marketing and communications
  • support for their projects and activities.
  • Ensure marketing efforts reflect the breadth of the Trust's work, from conservation
  • to community engagement. Budget Management
  • Support the Head of Fundraising and Communications in managing the fundraising,
  • marketing, and communications budget and other Trust resources as efficiently and effectively as possible.
  • Monitor expenditure against the budget ensuring cost-effective use of resources,
  • and recommend adjustments where necessary., Understanding of data protection regulations and best D Apractices for managing supporter data., The reality and threat of climate change is sadly increasing year on year. Alongside our work totackle the nature emergency in Sheffield & Rotherham, we are also working to help tackle theclimate emergency.We are doing this through our strategic work, by delivering nature-based solutions that can helplock up carbon and manage flood risk for example. But in addition to that, we are reviewing ourday to day operations to seek opportunities to reduce our own carbon footprint wherever we can.Our strategic ambition is to be zero carbon by 2030 and are currently working to an action plan tohelp us identify and prioritise where we can reduce our carbon emissions before then turning ourfocus on how we can offset emissions and use our extensive knowledge & experience of working toprotect nature, to implement nature-based solutions that lead to carbon sequestration.

    Level 4 qualification, CIM Certificate or equivalent E A, Proven experience in a similar marketing or E A & Icommunications role, demonstrated by at least 1-2 yearsrelevant experience, preferably within the charity,environmental, or nonprofit sector.Demonstrated success in leading marketing and E A & Icommunications strategies, particularly for digitalrecruitment.Strong track record of building brand awareness and E A & Imanaging media relationships.Experience in team management, including performance D Adevelopment and support.Experience managing budgets and working with various D Aorganisational resources effectively.KNOWLEDGE & SKILLSExcellent knowledge of digital marketing techniques, E A & Iincluding social media strategy, SEO, and content creation.Strong writing and storytelling skills, with experience in E Aproducing compelling press releases, campaigns, andonline content.Proficiency in website CMS, analytics tools (e.g., Google D AAnalytics), and CRM systems, Creative, proactive, and results-driven, with excellent E Iproblem-solving skills.Collaborative and supportive team player, with strong E Iinterpersonal skills.Passionate about environmental conservation and D Isustainability.

We come into contact with many people as we undertake our day to day work rightacross the Trust - from responding to customer enquiries, recruiting members, helping the publicon site, delivering activities or supporting a placement student or volunteer. In view of this oursafeguarding policy & procedures form a thread across all staff and teams from recruitment to theday to day work we carry out.Our Safeguarding Group plays an important role in leading our safeguarding activity and all staffcarry responsibility in their work.     Salary: £ 32,906.08 per annum pro rata (SPO)(0.6) £19743.60 per annum(0.7) £23034.24 per annumPension:All staff who earn over £192 per week (£833 per month) are over 22 and under pensionable age,are automatically enrolled on the SRWT pension scheme.Following a 3-month postponement, the pension contribution is based on a total of 8% minimumlevel, 3% by SRWT and 5% by employee.After 6 month's service (subject to successful probationary period), the employee will be entitled toa 9% contribution which need not be matched.Anyone who does not meet eligibility criteria will have the opportunity to join the scheme shouldthey wish, although they will not qualify for SRWT contributions.Working Hours:The working week for this post is 22.5 (0.6) to 26.25 (0.7) hours, exclusive of lunch breaks. The postmay involve some evening and weekend work for which time off in lieu can be taken. Flexi-timearrangements can be made at the line manager's discretion., Location:The post will be based at the Trust's main office on Stafford Road. Staff have the opportunity toblended working combining home and office working. However it is expected that the post holderwill be required to visit other project sites and will work throughout Sheffield and Rotherham andfurther afield.Probationary Period: All new employees are required to undertake a period of probation for6 months, in which they will be expected to establish their suitability for the post.Annual Leave: 31 days holiday, (including 3 days to be taken between Christmas and New Year, 8bank holidays) pro rata. Staff will also receive a holiday bonus of 1 day per year for the first fiveyears of full time service up to a maximum of 36 days per year. Annual leave entitlement is pro ratafor all part time staff.Length of Contract: Permanent, subject to funding.Transport provision: Trust staff are required to use public transport wherever practical.
