Mapping, modelling and evidence are fundamental to flood risk management, and we need robust planning, commissioning and assurance processes to ensure national investment delivers the right outcomes.

As a Programme Advisor, you will play a key role supporting the Head of FCRM Modelling and Mapping and senior colleagues to plan, commission and assure nationally significant modelling related programmes. You will help ensure modelling and related activities are prioritised effectively, deliver value for money and meet the needs of customers and stakeholders across the organisation.

Working closely with technical specialists, programme managers, delivery teams and senior leaders, you will help develop and maintain a coordinated approach to programme planning, governance and assurance. You will be comfortable working across organisational boundaries, managing competing priorities and supporting informed decision-making in a complex environment.

Your role will include:

Supporting the development and maintenance of current and future-year modelling programmes and priorities.

Providing strategic assurance to ensure programmes deliver the required products, outputs and benefits.

Monitoring progress, risks, issues, actions and dependencies across commissioned work.

Supporting the development, monitoring and assurance of service commitments.

Preparing reports, briefings and management information for senior leaders and governance groups.

Monitoring audit actions, assurance activities and improvement plans.

Supporting guidance, tools and services used to manage programme planning.
