Soil Machine Dynamics (SMD) is looking for a Manufacturing Production Operative to join our team. In this role, you will manufacture wires, cables, harnesses and wiring looms to support electrical system builds and other associated duties., Manufacturing wires, cables, harnesses and wiring looms using manual tools and automatic machinery, following build instructions, wiring schedules & drawings Manage and maintain wire manufacturing machines Support formation of wiring schedules Support Electrical Technicians in preparation of parts and kits
Ideally NVQ level 3 or equivalent production experience IPC/WHMA-A-620 or equivalent Experience of using a broad range of electrical connector type (e.g. Molex, Deutch, D-Type Connectors) Skilled in use of crimp and cable making hand tools Experience of Soldering for Wiring and PCB manufacture Basic Microsoft Excel skills Awareness of the requirements of electrical assemblies Ability to work as part of a team, flexibility, pro-active attitude, health & safety driven Basic Excel skills,
- HNC qualification or equivalent certified trade apprenticeship
- Strong experience in panel wiring and machine wiring, working to electrical drawings
- Proven experience in electrical assembly and sub-assembly requirements
- Experience in stripping, crimping, and terminating cables
