Manufacturing Engineer - Tooling Design

At our GKN Filton site, we specialise in the design and manufacture of large complex structural wing assemblies, detailed metallic components and wing systems for a combination of both civil and military aircraft. We have an new exciting and career defining opportunity for a Manufacturing Tooling Engineer to join the team. The successful applicant will perform a variety of engineering duties in planning and modifying fixtures, tools and manufacturing processes.How You'll Contribute We're looking for someone with the ability to resolve production issues in a timely manner completing all documentation on assigned parts. As well as:

• Develop, evaluate, improve and documents Tooling processes
• Develop and implement process control techniques including work instructions using tools such as SPC, PFMEA
• Analyse Tooling process flows continually for the improvements of quality, cost reduction, lead-time reduction for new work
• Collaborate with other functions to ensure effective Tooling solutions
• Coordinate Tool inspection procedures with multifunctional teams
• Address and document cause and corrective action issues to prevent future problem occurrences
• Determine required material and tools to meet manufacturing demands
  
  The successful applicant will be proactive in their approach and seek out opportunity to contribute, the ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders is also an essential part of this role.
In addition, you'll need the following skills Essential:
• Relevant plant tooling experience
• Proficient IT skills (ideally ERP system, Office packages etc)
Desirable:
• Tool making experience
• Experience in a similar role
