You will take responsibility for assigned toolset capabilities, translating manufacturing engineering challenges into user requirements and practical digital solutions, while coordinating their development, evaluation, validation and deployment across multidisciplinary teams. You will own the engineering definition of assigned capabilities and oversee their delivery throughout the full capability lifecycle, while also influencing the future of connected, model-based manufacturing across product definition,
process planning and production execution.

Core Duties

Lead engagement with manufacturing engineering stakeholders to understand processes, challenges and opportunities, and define user needs, use cases, functional requirements and acceptance criteria for digital manufacturing capabilities

Provide technical input into the Digital Manufacturing Engineering toolset roadmap and coordinate development of assigned capabilities with IT, system architects, delivery teams, software suppliers and national and international partners

Lead technical assessments of potential solutions through options studies, demonstrations, proof-of-concepts and technical evaluations, making evidence-based recommendations

Define validation evidence and coordinate user acceptance, introduction and adoption of new capabilities, ensuring solutions are fit for purpose and effectively deployed

Contribute to the development of manufacturing information flows, interfaces and integrations across PLM, MES, ERP and associated engineering systems, supporting model-based process planning, digital manufacturing simulation, virtual validation and connected work instructions

Ensure capability development aligns with enterprise architecture, data standards, configuration control and requirements traceability, while managing and communicating progress, dependencies, risks and recommendations to stakeholders, The FCAS Manufacturing Engineering Collaborative Environment team, based at Warton, supports the development and delivery of digital manufacturing capabilities that enable GCAP programme delivery. Working across Manufacturing Engineering, Enterprise IT, Edgewing and Air Digital Manufacturing Programme teams, the team helps align digital toolsets, processes and deployment activities with programme requirements and enterprise architecture. The team contributes to the development, configuration and integration of digital manufacturing solutions across manufacturing engineering environments, supporting effective tool adoption, stakeholder collaboration and continuous improvement to enhance manufacturing engineering capability and support future programme needs.
