Manual / CNC Machinist Apprentice

Introduction

Manufacture of Aerospace broach tools to tolerance using manual and CNC milling and grinding machines. Self-inspection in process using micrometres, slips, dial test indicators and height gauges. Follow on process meaning each operator relies on the previous operation to be correct for work to progress. Final CMM and 3D scanning inspection.

• Set your work area
• Set your machine
• Carry out the work

• Move work onto next section
• Clean down and maintain machinery

Training Outcome

• You will be able to work as an Engineering Operative in a workshop environment with minimal supervision
• You may be able to progress onto a Level 3 Machining Technician Apprenticeship
