Full Job Description

As a Manager, you will act as the primary steward and co-ordinator of agreed deliverables with clients, own the day-to-day client relationship on site, manage junior team members, maintain a clear understanding of the client's desired outcome and steer the direction of work accordingly, and begin to build expertise in a specific area while helping to identify sell-on opportunities. What you will be working on:

  • Assignments across the full legal market - with in-house legal departments, contracts teams and law firms, including projects involving AI and technology-enabled transformation
  • Developing deep expertise in one or more LMC domains, and leading and developing multidisciplinary project teams
  • Taking primary ownership of the day-to-day client relationship, building trusted working relationships at mid-to-senior stakeholder level
  • Actively contributing to business development, including proposals, bid workstreams and the development of new LMC propositions and methodologies
  • What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Supporting the strategic planning and scoping of engagements, owning multiple workstreams and deliverables, and applying knowledge of the client's broader legal context to shape recommendations
  • Managing Consultant and Analyst grades, reviewing deliverables, providing timely feedback, and using PowerPoint, Excel, Swift, PairD and Legora as core delivery tools
  • Owning and leading client meetings and workshops, communicating clearly and concisely, managing daily client interactions, proactively identifying risks, and staying at the forefront of LMC and AI market trends
  • Contributing to scope documents and statements of work, managing engagement budgets, interpreting engagement data, and taking personal accountability for steering work in alignment with client and Deloitte objectives
  • Setting clear expectations for junior team members, providing regular and specific feedback, addressing performance concerns promptly, coaching team members and sharing knowledge
  • Leading bid workstreams, drafting tender responses, contributing to account management and new offer development, and proactively identifying new opportunities from client engagements
  • Leading practice development initiatives, contributing to LMC propositions and thought leadership, and serving as a subject matter resource for other teams

Demonstrable experience in management consulting with a strong track record of delivery across complex, multi-workstream projects
  • A solid and growing understanding of the challenges facing in-house legal departments and/or law firms, with the ability to apply that knowledge to shape recommendations
  • Proven experience managing and developing people, with a coaching mindset and a commitment to fostering inclusive, high-performing teams
  • Strong engagement management skills, including contributing to scope documents, resource planning, budget management and risk management
  • Hands-on experience across consulting methodologies including organisational assessments, operating model design, process reengineering, strategy reviews and technology implementations
  • A strong and growing interest in AI, legal technology and digital transformation, with the ability to apply emerging trends to client work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage and influence senior stakeholders, and proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Swift, PairD and Legora
  • Professional integrity, high levels of personal accountability, and a degree or similar qualification. Relevant certifications such as Prince2, PMI/APM, Prosci or Lean Six Sigma are an advantage
