Full Job Description
As a Senior Manager you will be delivering strategy work for our clients day-to-day. While no two projects are the same, you will typically be responsible for managing an engagement or major workstream in a large programme with routine senior oversight, effectively managing upwards and being seen as a trusted advisor to our clients. You will often be seen as a key point of review on all deliverables, manage day-to-day project workflow, and build trust with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring visibility, and rapidly escalating issues and requesting support, where needed. In addition, you will be responsible for developing a broader network of relationships across the business to support business development outside of your primary engagement. Beyond client work, you will be responsible for devoting time to coach junior team members, support their wellbeing, and create a culture that draws strength from diversity and inclusion. Client engagements are predominantly with organisations facing important, often profound, transitions. Engagements are typically driven by CEOs, business unit leaders, and other members of the senior management team. Client engagements may be as short as a few months, but can also evolve into multi-year, wide-ranging and transformative relationships. We not only bring our clients the insight and unconventional thinking that help them form strategies to anticipate disruption and respond to change - we also use our experience and knowledge to help them bring those strategies to life. We bring a rigorous, evidence-based analytical capability to help our clients solve their most pressing and complex issues. We help them reveal insight and deliver value through pragmatic recommendations. Our approach is to work collaboratively with our clients to understand the forces that are driving change, identify opportunities and enable them to develop and deliver solutions across their whole organisation. As a Strategy Senior Manager your responsibilities will include:
- Oversight of delivery of high-quality outputs to the client to articulate strategy and drive understanding and buy-in from stakeholders.
- Leadership: Provides a vision for deliverables, guiding the team in structuring analysis, and independently leading multiple engagements from scoping through delivery.
- Tools, Skills & Frameworks: Maintains expert knowledge in the use of data, tools & frameworks and uses this to lead the team to find appropriate analytical approaches to solving client problems.
- Relationship Management: Working closely with clients and internal stakeholders, taking the lead in developing strong professional relationships and liaising with teams to deliver a seamless client experience.
- Analysis & Insights: Leading execution of rigorous and insightful analysis to build an evidence base to support strategy development and change.
- Team Management: Supports team members in developing against their objectives, fostering a team environment that builds accountability and commitment.
- Communication: Mastery of communication, demonstrating critical thinking and concise structuring / hypothesis-based story telling.
- Practice Development: Takes on leading roles within the practice, managing time and resources to ensure the right level of input into practice development initiatives in parallel to client delivery.
- Business Development: Taking a leadership role in the management of the practice and business development.
- Continuous Learning: Proactively identifies relevant business trends, economic forces, and industry practices that can be confidently discussed with leadership and client stakeholders.
- Mentoring & Coaching: Actively supports team members and colleagues, leading by example and ensuring there are regular check-ins on wellbeing., In an ever-evolving world, there are no certainties in business. Our teams help clients to navigate risks, process major transactions and deliver transformational change that will future-proof their business. Join us to make a positive difference. Strategy and Business Design The experts in our teams in Strategy and Business Design are trusted advisors to CEOs and their wider organisations. Whether that's launching a new arm of a business, anticipating new and emerging risks or collaborating with other teams, we work on a huge range of varied projects. Personal independence Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm). The recruitment team will provide further detail as you progress through the recruitment process or you can contact the Independence team upon request.
